Bank of Taiwan floats relief measures for COVID-19 affected clients as part of the commitment to corporate social responsibility. Bank of Taiwan decides to offer those who fail to make their scheduled credit card payments due to the impact of the epidemic situation. The applications will be accepted from today until April 30, 2020. For medical workers and disease-prevention effort personnel, people who are being placed under government-designated quarantine or unable to return to Taiwan because of quarantine, Bank of Taiwan is going to, excluding the original bill of revolving credit, provide an additional payment extension within a 90-day grace period; for other affected clients who are unable to fulfill their payments on time due to home quarantine, Bank of Taiwan also offers an additional payment extension within a 30-day grace period as well. The abovementioned cardholders affected by the epidemic situation are exempted from paying any interest and penalty fees during the extension period. Please contact the customer service center or any branch of Bank of Taiwan if needed.
It is suggested that all cardholders make their credit card payment via Bank of Taiwan’s online banking or “TAIWAN PAY” mobile payment with ease at home anytime in order to reduce exposure to COVID-19. In addition, promotional credit card payment offers have become available to those who apply for electronic billing and authorize automatic bill payment. Bank of Taiwan invites all cardholders to join the program and make use of the special reciprocation for credit card payments.
