Uniform-invoice Prizewinners Must Hold the Original Certified Copies of Electronic Uniform Invoices for Redemption.

The National Taxation Bureau of the Central Area, Ministry of Finance (NTBCA) stated that people could scan or key certified copies of electronic uniform invoices into the invoice deposit of the Uniform Invoice Lottery Redemption app (hereinafter referred to as Redemption app) launched by the Ministry of Finance to help them review their consumption record and check whether they won a uniform invoice prize or not. However, this procedure does not change the certified copies of electronic uniform invoices to become cloud invoices. Prizewinners must hold the original paper copies to claim their winning prizes as well.

NTBCA explained that electronic uniform invoices are the uniform invoices which are issued, transferred, or received via the internet or other electronic means. There are 2 types of electronic uniform invoices: (1) certified paper copies and (2) cloud invoices, depending on whether the paper copies are printed or not. Recently, there was a prizewinner who could not redeem his/her prize after receiving notice of winning 1,000 NTD, because he/she threw away the original certified copy of the electronic uniform invoice after scanning it into the invoice deposit of the Redemption app.

NTBCA would like to remind the public that, when prizewinners have printed their certified copies of cloud invoices at a kiosk in a convenience store, they are obligated to hold the original copy to claim the prize. If that printed certified copy is lost or so ruined that it cannot be identified anymore, the holder will not be allowed to print again either by the business entity who issued the cloud invoice or by the convenience store which provides the kiosk to print the certified copy in order to maintain the uniqueness of the redemption qualification, said the Bureau.
