The 20th Golden Thumb Awards for Private Participation in Infrastructure Projects will begin accepting applications on May 3, 2022. Besides the Private Team Awards and Government Agency Award, the Public Service Award, Bilingual Excellence Award, and Innovation Award are also included this year. The application deadline is on June 2, with the Ministry of Finance sincerely welcoming applicants from all walks of life to compete for the honor of the Golden Thumb Awards.
To encourage private institutions to participate in infrastructure projects and further improve the efficiency of PPP (public-private-partnership), the Ministry of Finance began hosting the Golden Thumb Awards in 2002. In celebration of the award's 20th anniversary, there is a special meaning behind this year's theme, "Classic 20th·Glorious Taiwan," representing the 20th milestone of the Golden Thumb Awards and the bright vision of developing PPP in Taiwan.
To bolster the quality of award applications this year, the Golden Thumb Awards expanded the reward for the winning projects of the Private Team Awards, such as allowing the winning team members to apply for deposit deductions and the royalty fee of their projects. Moreover, as a means to substantially reward the winning teams, the Ministry of Finance will further promote the winning cases and dispatch an official document of the Golden Thumb Award winners list to all government agencies.
The subcategories of the Golden Thumb Awards include Public Service Award, Bilingual Excellence Award, and the Innovation Award. The purpose of these three awards, as mentioned above, is to encourage the private institutions that fulfill their corporate social responsibility, support the government's bilingual policy, and reward the government agencies willing to think outside the box, respectively. Besides providing high-quality public services, promoting PPP will develop public welfare and create a perfect bilingual environment while committing to the next milestone.
The Ministry of Finance reminds potential applicants that the application must be submitted either by mail or in-person to the ministry (Address: No. 1, Ln. 142, Sec. 6, Roosevelt Rd., Wenshan Dist., Taipei City) by 5:00 p.m. June 2, 2022. All applicants are highly encouraged to seize this opportunity.
