Taipei Customs stated recently customs have been repeatedly receiving duty payers' phone calls expressing they did not shop online or import goods from abroad. The aforementioned situation might be resulted from information leakage of importers.
Taipei Customs further stated that in accordance with article 47 of "Customs Anti-smuggling Act", where the person disposed or a third party with interest at stake does not agree with the disposition, he/she may, within 30 days from the day following the date of receipt of the disposition notice, file a written protest in given format against Customs for review. As such, an application for review in the prescribed form might be submitted to Customs by registered mail if falsification were discovered, so as his/her right to be preserved. To avoid personal information leakage, Taipei Customs encourages importers to make use of the EZWAY APP.
