The Ministry of Finance states that the filing period for income tax returns for taxable year 2025 will begin on May 1, 2026.  As that day is a national holiday, tax offices will be closed to the public while the e-filing system will remain available.  The Ministry of Finance encourages taxpayers to file their income tax returns online.  In addition, the statutory filing deadline, May 31, falls on Sunday and is therefore extended to June 1.  Some media outlets mistakenly reported the deadline as June 3, and the Ministry of Finance hereby clarifies this information.
