The Ministry of Finance (MOF) stated that the 64th Ordinary Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) was held in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, from May 9 to 10, 2024. Finance Minister Ms. Tsui-Yun Chuang led a delegation to the Meeting.

The MOF explained that CABEI was established in 1960 and is headquartered in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. CABEI focuses on promoting economic integration and social development in the region, and currently consists of 15 members. Taiwan has been a member of CABEI since 1992 and participates in the Bank’s governance through shareholdings. The Board of Governors is the top decision-making authority of CABEI. It discusses the important operational matters and decides the direction of the bank’s future development during the Ordinary Meeting every year.

The MOF pointed out that Minister Chuang participated in the Ordinary Meeting as the Governor for R.O.C. During her stay in Honduras, Minister Chuang attended CABEI’s Ordinary Meeting and discussed important topics related to the Bank’s annual operations, institutional strategies, as well as progress in governance reforms.
