Taipei Customs seizes 148 kg of smuggled pork products

Taipei Customs had intercepted 148.723 kg of pork and alleged pork products in 96 seizures since Aug 23th to Sep 10th, which were mainly from Vietnam, Philippines, Hong Kong and Mainland China.


The African Swine Fever virus has reached Taiwan which may erase swine herds from existence and cause a huge economic loss if the situation becomes worse. 


Enhancing border control measures is critical now. Air cargo inspection is strengthened to stop smugglers from harming Taiwan.
