The 22nd Golden Thumb Awards for Private Participation in Public Construction is now open for applications until May 31, 2024.To spread awareness about the selection process, the Ministry of Finance will host briefing sessions and observation events in southern and northern Taiwan on April 11th and 18th, respectively. Limited seats are available, and all interested parties are encouraged to register to vie for the prestigious Golden Thumb Awards!
According to the Ministry of Finance, the Golden Thumb Awards encompasses recognition for government and private sector project teams, along with additional accolades such as the Innovation Award, Public Welfare Award, and Bilingual Benchmark Award. Winning government teams stand to receive cash prizes ranging from NT$100,000 to NT$500,000. At the same time, private sector teams may also apply for incentives like reduced security deposits and royalties from the authority in charge. Furthermore, in a bid to encourage greater participation, the 22nd edition has relaxed the restriction on the ratio of additional award recipients, which is no longer bound by the 1/3 limit of the total number of applications.
The Ministry of Finance further added that the deadline for registration for the upcoming briefing sessions and observation events is April 8th. During these events, the application and selection criteria will be explained, and experiences from the winning projects of the 21st Golden Thumb Awards will be shared, along with on-site visits. In the southern region, the Linhai Wastewater Treatment Plant and Reclaimed Water BTO Project in Kaohsiung will be showcased. In contrast, the northern region will feature the Taipei Information Park and Parking Lot BOT Project as the observation cases. All interested parties are cordially invited to participate in these events.
The Ministry of Finance would like to remind the public that the application documents for the 22nd Golden Thumb Awards must be postmarked or hand-delivered to the Ministry of Finance (Address: 13F, No.1, Lane 142, Section 6, Roosevelt Rd., Wenshan District, Taipei City) by 5:00 PM on May 31, 2024. Applicant teams are encouraged to take note of the deadline and actively engage in the process.
