In order to assist the lessees of national lands who were affected by the earthquakes in Hualien and Taitung on September 18, 2022 in rebuilding their homes as soon as possible, the National Property Administration (NPA) instructed the Hualien Office affiliated to the Northern Region Branch, and the Taitung Office affiliated to the Southern Region Branch, to proactively adopt the following measures for those lessees of national lands who suffered damage to their houses, and which became unusable or unsuitable for habitation after the earthquakes: (1) The NPA shall prepare and forward a list of lessees to the disaster prevention and response organizations, for such organizations to find out the situation of damage to those lessees’ houses, so the NPA can handle rent reduction and exemption matters therefrom. (2) Where those lessees of national lands need to repair their houses on the ground after the disaster, the agreements on the use of land will be issued to assist the lessees with the matter processing. (3) For the lessees in the designated disaster area, rent arrears and the retroactive use charge shall be deferred.
