“The MOF Annual Project on the Investigation and Seizure of Illegal Tobacco and Alcohol Products” is to be established and implemented. The available staff and all other resources under the investigation and seizure-related agencies at both the central and local government levels shall be integrated, adopting strategic and progressive actions, multiple-channel internal and external marketing promotions, division of labor, as well as assessment and review of performance in order to elevate the efficacy of investigation and seizure.

Performance：

In order to strengthen the efficacy of investigation and seizure of illegal tobacco and alcohol products, the NTA has continuously carried out “The Implementation Plan for Enhancing the Efficiency of Investigation and Seizure of Smuggled Tobacco Products” and promulgated “The 2023 Project on the Investigation and Seizure of Illegal Tobacco.” Through integration of the staff and all other resources under different investigation and seizure-related agencies operating at borders and markets, the investigation and seizure actions in accordance with division of powers and responsibilities have been carried out. As of the period from January 1, 2023 to the end August of the same year, the amount of seized illegal tobacco products has reached 9,234,384 packs, and the amount of seized illegal alcohol products has reached 281,114 liters.
