Fifty-six PPP projects were contracted and the investment amount reached NTD 195.4 billion in the first half of 2022. The number already exceeded 188.8 billion, the whole 2021’s investment amount.

    Despite the effect of the pandemic, the result of private participation in infrastructure is outstanding. Through the end of June, the investment amount was close to NTD 200 billion which shows that authorities in charge are promoting PPP actively. It is expected that the PPP investment amount of 2022 will reach break a new record.

    Among the 56 PPP projects, 34 of them are in accordance with the PPIP Act and created NTD 36 billion of investment. The investment amount of “The Build-operate-transfer (B.O.T.) Project of Taichung Municipal General Hospital” was NTD 15.7 billion and made Taichung City Government the highest recipient of all city governments. The Ministry of Economic Affairs came in second with NTD8.7 billion of investment. Private participation in infrastructure in accordance with other laws was led by Kaohsiung City Government with NTD 62 billion of total investment. Among the projects, “The Urban Land Renew of Kaohsiung Multi-functional Commerce & Trade Park (North Base)” reached nearly NTD 40 billion of investment.
