The Ministry of Finance (MOF) stated that the 57th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) was held in Tbilisi, Georgia, from May 2 to 5, 2024. Finance Minister Ms. Tsui-Yun Chuang led a delegation to the Meeting.
The MOF explained that ADB has a total of 68 member countries. The Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors is a significant event aimed at deepening international connections for high-ranking officials from the ministries of finance or central banks, and financial institutions of member countries. This year, the Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors and related peripheral activities were attended by approximately 4,000 participants.
The MOF pointed out that Minister Chuang participated in the Annual Meeting as a Governor, highlighting our country’s emphasis on participation in international affairs. During her stay in Georgia, Minister Chuang attended ADB’s Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors and discussed important topics related to ADB’s annual operations. Minister Chuang also exchanged ideas with the senior officials of ADB and made suggestions on the ADB’s governance and operations. The delegation also communicated with the representatives from other member countries, further strengthening bilateral relations and seeking business opportunities for the enterprises of Taiwan.
