Keelung Customs (KLC) stated that they conduct smuggled goods and overdue goods auctions on the last Thursday of every month regularly. In the latter half of the year, auctions will be held on July 25th, August 29th, September 26th, October 31st, November 28th, and December 26th. KLC will announce the latest inventory list on their official website one week in advance; both individuals and businesses are eligible to participate in the bidding.
Those who want to participate in the bidding are allowed to apply for viewing goods at the storage location within the announced period of time, and get the bidding form after submitting the bid bond at Legal & Seizure Affairs Division office on the 3rd floor of KLC, and send the bidding form back to KLC before 1:30 PM of the bidding day by prompt registered mail.
KLC explained that the bid bond can be paid in promissory notes issued be Bank of Taiwan, bank checks, and bank certified checks, and the payee should be KLC, Customs Administration, Ministry of Finance. Cash is also acceptable when the total amount of the bid bond does not reach NT$5,000.
KLC further stated that auction items are quite various, such as clothing textiles, bed sheets, socks, electric bicycles, electric scooters, screws, automotive parts, and so on. To make the most of all items and reduce the environmental pollution caused by goods destruction, KLC welcomes people to participate in the bidding!
