Universal Cash Handout Deadline Approaching - Only 4 Days Left! Individuals Who Have Not Yet Claimed Should Do So by the End of April to Avoid Missing the Deadline!

The deadline to claim the NT$10,000 universal cash handout is April 30, 2026. Those who have not yet claimed it are urged to do so within the final four days. Late claims will not be accepted.

The National Treasury Administration, Ministry of Finance, stated that, as of April 26, 2026, over 23.31 million individuals have claimed their NT$10,000 cash through multiple channels, representing 98.92% of the estimated eligible population. An estimated 250,000 individuals have yet to claim it, including nearly 30,000 who experienced failed Remittance Registration and have not claimed it through other methods. The NTA reminds those who chose the Remittance Registration or Direct Remittance to confirm receipt of the universal cash handout by checking their passbook or via online or mobile banking. If the NT$10,000 cash has not been received, please claim it by reapplying through Remittance Registration, or via ATM Cash Withdrawal or Post Office Cash Withdrawal before April 30. For those who chose the Post Office Cash Withdrawal method, please note that the counter services for claiming the universal cash handout at the post office will only be available until 5:00 PM on April 30 (actual service hours may vary by branch; please refer to individual branch announcements or inquire in advance).

The NTA would like to remind those who become eligible on April 29 or 30 and are unable to claim via Remittance Registration, ATM Cash Withdrawal, or Post Office Cash Withdrawal, that they must apply by 11:59:59 PM on April 30 by calling the information service hotline 1988 (voice message available) or through the online customer service on the “Universal Cash Handout” advocacy website. Late applications will not be accepted. Individuals who have received assistance via the information service hotline 1988 (including claims for eligible deceased family members) are advised to complete the claim promptly upon notification and no later than April 30 to avoid affecting their rights. According to statistics from the 1988 service team, as of April 26, a total of 104 notified cases has yet to complete their claims.

The NTA further indicated that newborns born domestically between April 1 and April 30, 2026, whose parent is eligible and who hold a birth certificate, may claim the NT$10,000 cash by May 22, 2026 – not May 31. Approximately 6,000 eligible newborns were born domestically between April 1 and April 26 this year. Around 1,700 have claimed the universal cash handout, while over 4,000 have not, with a claim rate of only 28.98%. The NTA urges parents of eligible newborns to pay close attention to the claim period and ensure that the cash is claimed in person at post offices by May 22, 2026; claims made after the deadline will not be accepted. During the claim period, if any issues arise, please immediately call the information service hotline 1988 for assistance.

The NTA further notes that, starting May 1, registration and claims via the official website (https://10000.gov.tw) and ATMs will no longer be available; the official website will remain accessible for informational purposes only. Beginning May 4 (as May 1-3 falls during the Labor Day holiday period), post offices will handle claims solely for the universal cash handout for eligible newborns born in April.

The NTA would like to reiterate that the government will not send text messages or emails to notify individuals about receiving money or logging in, nor will they make phone calls requesting ATM or online banking transactions. It is crucial for the public to remain vigilant and not fall for these scams in order to prevent personal information theft or fraud. Please refer to the official website (https://10000.gov.tw) for information on the universal cash handout. If you receive any suspicious phone calls, text messages, or emails, please immediately call the Anti-Fraud Hotline at 165 or the information service hotline 1988 for verification to protect your rights.
