The Ocean Affairs Council Joined the CPT Single Window  for Comparing Declarations with Permissions

The Ocean Affairs Council of the Executive Yuan (hereinafter referred to as OAC) formally joined the “Customs-Port-Trade Single Window” (hereinafter referred to as CPT) on January 19, 2021 as one of participating agencies, to conduct declaration licensing online comparison mechanism to provide the paperless customs clearance service.

The Customs Administration announced that this operation is suitable for import/export cases of marine commodities such as marine wildlife and products of conservation and marine mammals. Through the OAC’s “Marine Wildlife import/export license and Clearance Platform” connected to CPT to conduct the comparison data items between the permission and declaration, to improve the management efficiency of import and export clearance.

The Customs Administration further stated that, in the past, customs brokers had to apply to the OAC for a paper permit, fill in the declaration form with the license number, and then submit the paper to the Customs at the counter. The customs officers must first review the documents and find them consistent with the declaration details before the cargoes are released. Now through the CPT, data is transmitted online between agencies, and the declarations are compared to permissions automatically, hence saving time and cost in document delivery and speeding up the release of goods.

The Customs Administration urges operators to make good use of the services mentioned above to improve the efficiency of customs clearance and avoid cluster infection.
