Deadline to Claim NT$10,000 Universal Cash Handout: April 30—Individuals Urged to Act Promptly

The National Treasury Administration, Ministry of Finance, stated that the deadline to claim the NT$10,000 universal cash handout is April 30, 2026. An estimated 400,000 eligible individuals have yet to claim it, and are urged to do so promptly before the deadline to protect their rights.

The NTA explained that, as of March 31, about 30,000 individuals who chose Remittance Registration have not received their universal cash handout due to incorrect account information, closed accounts, watch-listed accounts, or derivative watch-listed accounts, and have not claimed it through other methods. The NTA reminds those who chose the Remittance Registration or Direct Remittance to confirm receipt of the universal cash handout by checking their passbook or via online or mobile banking. If the NT$10,000 cash has not been received, please claim it by reapplying through Remittance Registration , or via ATM Cash Withdrawal or Post Office Cash Withdrawal before April 30.

The NTA indicates that, in cooperation with relevant departments, the overall operation of the universal cash handout has been running smoothly. As of March 31, 2026, a total of 23.16 million individuals have claimed their NT$10,000 cash through multiple channels, representing 98.29% of the eligible population. Among the various claim methods, the highest proportion, at 38.83%, was through Remittance Registration, with over 8.99 million people. Following that, ATM Cash Withdrawal accounted for 26.94%, with more than 6.24 million individuals. Approximately 4.58 million people, or 19.76%, received the NT$10,000 cash through Direct Remittance, while over 3.29 million individuals, making up 14.23%, received their NT$10,000 cash through Post Office Cash Withdrawal, with Compilation Register disbursement accounting for 0.24%, or 60,000 people.

The NTA further indicated that newborns born domestically between April 1 and April 30, 2026, whose parent is eligible and who hold a birth certificate, may claim the NT$10,000 cash by May 22 (Friday), 2026—not May 31. All other eligible individuals, including infants born before the end of March 2026, must claim it by April 30 (Thursday), 2026. Claims made after this deadline will not be processed.

The NTA urges all eligible individuals who have not yet claimed to choose an appropriate method for claiming. Nationals who have recently restored their household registration, or foreign nationals who have obtained a residence permit, are advised to call the information service hotline "1988" before April 30 if they encounter any issues during the claiming process.

The NTA would like to reiterate that the government will not send text messages or emails to notify individuals about receiving money or logging in, nor will they make phone calls requesting ATM or online banking transactions. It is crucial for the public to remain vigilant and not fall for these scams in order to prevent personal information theft or fraud. Please refer to the official website (https://10000.gov.tw) for information on the universal cash handout. If you receive any suspicious phone calls, text messages, or emails, please immediately call the Anti-Fraud Hotline at 165 or the information service hotline "1988" for verification to protect your rights.
