To enhance the understanding of domestic companies regarding business opportunities relating to multilateral development banks (MDBs), the Ministry of Finance is organizing the "Multilateral Development Banks Business Opportunities Seminar: Sustainability and Green Energy" on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, from 13:30 to 16:00 in Room 702C, 7th Floor, Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 2. Experts from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) are being invited to introduce procurement opportunities in sustainability and green energy, offering comprehensive information on international business opportunities to support global expansion. Companies interested in international business opportunities are encouraged to attend.
Both ADB and EBRD are MDBs and intergovernmental organizations, headquartered in Manila, the Philippines, and London, the United Kingdom, respectively. Through loans, grants, and technical assistance, these MDBs contribute to the economic and social development of their member countries by supporting various projects. ADB primarily operates in East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Central Asia, and the Pacific, while EBRD focuses on Central, Eastern, and Southern Europe, Central Asia, and the Mediterranean region.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the Seminar aims to assist domestic sustainability and green energy-related industry contractors, manufacturers, suppliers, and consultants to better understand the business opportunities offered by MDBs in their member countries. The Seminar scheduled to align with "Energy Taiwan" and "Net Zero Taiwan" (October 2-4), will offer sustainability and green energy businesses valuable, synchronized information at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 2.
The Ministry of Finance further noted that Taiwan is a founding member of ADB and a Special Observer of EBRD. Greater opportunities for local companies to expand overseas are being pursued through international engagement and strengthened collaboration with MDBs. Companies, financial institutions, academic organizations, and individuals interested in exploring international business opportunities relating to MDBs are invited to attend on October 2 from 13:30 to 16:00.
