Keelung Customs Services Under Taxpayer Rights Protection Act Remain Active During Covid-19 Pandemic

Keelung Customs (KLC) expressed: “KLC has been sparing no efforts in implementing the Taxpayer Rights Protection Act to safeguard the interests of taxpayers. KLC stressed that, since the outbreak of the Covid-19, the Agency promptly respond to the pandemic by providing the said service online to mitigate the inconvenience caused by social distancing requirements. Various stakeholders may seek such cyber services via the CPT Single Window.

KLC indicated that, to ensure rights of dutypayers and to achieve tax equity through due process of law, KLC’s ombudspersons accept complaints or petitions and help to resolve grievances from dutypayers at the earliest stage possible. In addition, essential consultation and other types of assistance is also provided when dutypayers intend to file protests against Customs.

To keep strengthening ombudspersons and Customs officers’ skill for rendering quality services, online training courses on administrative remedies and essence of the Act have been added to on-the-job training program amid the pandemic. KLC reminds the traders that online Taxpayer Rights Protection Service is available at: https://portal.sw.nat.gov.tw/PPL/ and stakeholders are encouraged to make best use of this facility. For more details and contact information of KLC ombudspersons, please visit KLC website or contact Legal&Seizure Affairs Division, KLC at (02)2420-2951 ext.3511.
