To implement digital equality and information accessibility policies, an accessible online filing webpage has been added this year (2026) to the Individual Income Tax e-filing and payment system, in order to comprehensively enhance the user experience across all groups. This enables individuals with physical and mental disabilities, elderly users, and the general public to access the same convenient tax filing services and complete their filings securely.
The National Taxation Bureau of Kaohsiung (hereinafter referred to as the “Bureau”) stated that the launch of the accessible online filing webpage is primarily intended to optimize visual presentation and operational convenience. Improvements include the addition of shortcut keys to enhance keyboard navigation, as well as landmark guidance functions to help users understand and navigate the website structure. Moreover, to meet the needs of visually impaired users, the webpage has been redesigned with improved modular structure to enhance compatibility with screen reader software, thereby addressing issues such as unreadable content, incomplete reading, or interrupted narration. This enables users to fully access webpage information and complete operational procedures through screen readers, further improving operational efficiency and reducing cognitive load. The accessible online filing webpage has also obtained an accessibility certification mark from the Ministry of Digital Affairs.
The Bureau further explained that the system has also adjusted input error prompts and adopted clearer and more specific messages to assist users in correcting filing data. For example, under the special deduction for housing rental expenses, a prompt for duplicate applications has been added to prevent filing errors caused by unclear information.
The Bureau urged taxpayers to make full use of online filing services, which help save time and reduce paper-based procedures, achieving the dual goals of convenience and environmental protection. If you have any tax-related questions during the filing period, please call 0800-000-321. For system operation issues, please call the toll-free service hotline at 0809-099-089, where dedicated staff will be pleased to assist you. You can also visit the Ministry of Finance’s “The e-Filing and Tax Payment Service of the Ministry of Finance” (https://tax.nat.gov.tw) website to use the national tax smart customer service tool, “National Tax Assistant” (tax related problems) and “Bo Er Bang” (system operations related problems) for online inquiries.
