The implementation status of the National Financial Stabilization Fund

The National Financial Stability Fund Management Committee held its 117th meeting on July 13, 2023 and approved the financial statements for the first half of the year. The National Financial Stability Fund (the ’Fund’) recorded a net income of 4.62 billion New Taiwan Dollars (NTD), with a return rate of approximately 21.55%. The income includes NTD401 million in financing cost and NTD17 million in transaction fees. Additionally, the Fund currently holds stocks with a market value of NTD39.955 billion, deducting the holding cost NTD33.067 billion, resulting in an unrealized capital gain of NTD6.887 billion.
On July 13, 2023, the TAIEX closed at 17,061.4 points, an increase of 1,256.64 points or 7.95% from the pre-exit level on April 13, 2023. The stock market has remained relatively stable, indicating that the Fund's suspended operations have no negative impact on the stock market.
The Fund continues to closely monitor domestic and international economic developments and their impacts. Following the principle of maintaining financial market stability, the Fund will prudently manage the underlying assets as required in accordance with the regulations.
