KLC’s Export Division Takes over Registration of Maritime Express Consignment Operator’s Application

Keelung Customs (KLC) announced that its Export Division is now taking charge of the processing maritime express consignment operator’s registration applications, which was previously handled by Bali Branch Customs. KLC explained that the shifting of responsibility is to provide more consolidated and convenient services to the potential applicants. Relevant stakeholders are advised to pay attention to the above change.

KLC further indicated that anyone who intends to be a maritime express consignment operator should have in their possession of a maritime forwarding business license (including sea/ air combined business). Moreover, he or she should designate a Customs broker as their business partner if he or she had not concurrently held a customs broker certificate. Applicants should also submit an application to the Export Division together with all the documents prescribed in the Article 9 of the Regulations Governing Customs Clearance Procedures for Maritime Express Consignments.

For more information, please go to KLC’s website at https://keelung.customs.gov.tw or contact Export Division at 02-24202951 ext. 5312.
