When a Taiwanese exporter receives a L/C issued by a bank in an emerging country and then the exporter would like to apply for loan from The Export-Import Bank of the Republic of China, the exporter has to obtain a confirmation for the said L/C from another bank with high a reputation in the U.S. or Europe?

First of all, exporters should give the name of the chosen issuing banks to The Export-Import Bank of the Republic of China. Our department of export insurance will check whether they are available to be insured. If the chosen issuing banks are acceptable, the exporter could apply for export loan and L/C  insurance simultaneously without confirmation from another bank with high reputation in the U.S. or Europe.
