Fiscal Information Agency, Ministry of Finance issues the 2016 statistical book of assessed individual income tax filing data
Fiscal Information Agency, Ministry of Finance states that the 2016 statistical book of assessed individual income tax filing data is scheduled to be announced on 29, April 2019. The statistical book of assessed individual income tax filing data is based on the demand of research and statistic from industries, governments, academics, research sectors, as well as practical experience of electronic operation on Individual Income Tax, issued in April every year since 1985. In response to the global green environmental protection and energy saving and carbon reduction policies, the electronic copies of the statistical tables in the statistical book are also announced on the Agency's website (https://www.fia.gov.tw). The public is welcome to browse and download it from the website.
The Agency particularly stated that the data in the statistical book were calculated according to assessed individual Income Tax Filing data. Because it does not include the income of taxpayers from "government transfer expenses" (such as government subsidies), tax-free income and separate taxation, etc, the statistical book is not suitable to be directly used as a basis for measuring the national income or the gap between the rich and the poor. The data of the household income shall be based on the information published by the Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics (DGBAS), Executive Yuan.
